Exploring Simulations 1

In this lesson you wil learn…

  • That a simulation represents an imaginary situation.
  • That as users you can explore options.
  • To move sequentially, in order, through the program, solving problems in order to move on.

You will need to…

  • Use the program to control the options and
    observe the outcomes.
  • Use trial and error, or trial and checking, to
    try out your predictions.
  • Identify or spot patterns.

With a partner, look at this link to the BBC Science Clips games we have used
before, and the new one from our current Science topic which we used on Monday. Open them in a new tab, so you can keep looking back at this blog post.

Play them again, but this time try to understand how the  simulation itself works. Work in pairs to answer these questions.

  • Do you like  the simulation? Why? Why not?
  • Tell me one thing you learned from it.
  • Did it help you to understand our Science investigation?
  • Is it better thandoing it for real? Why?
  • Is it not as good as doing it for real? Why?
  • Can you explain one of the rules that makes it work (and that the person who invented it must have decided upon)?

What has been your favourite lesson so far this term? Why?

ICT Week 3 – Adding Comments

This week you will practice what we have already learned, and also:
